Ph.d.-nettet

Arbejdsgrupper
Workgroups

At the national meeting on the 24th of September 2004 it was decided to create a number of working groups: the tasks performed by these groups define the current as well as the future body of work to be undertaken by the PhD Network. While some of these working groups are not yet fully functional, this is not because we accord them a lesser importance. It is simply that the PhD Network currently has insufficient manpower to maintain both the ordinary workflow within the PhD network as well as covering all the tasks of the various groups. If you are interested in participating in one of the already functioning working groups, starting a new working group or if you have ideas for other working groups, then do not hesitate to email either the national coordinator or responsible of the group in question.

PR

Formål: At gøre opmærksom på Ph.d.-nettet, dets eksistens og dets arbejde i alle relevante medier. De andre arbejdsgrupper opdaterer PR-gruppen løbende.
The goal of this working group is to draw attention to the existence and activities of the PhD network in all relevant media. The remaining working groups should strive to continuously update the PR group.

Høringsbreve
Consultation letters

The group will receive draft bills put forward by the Ministries of Science, Technology and Innovation and of Education and Research, and will, upon reception, decide whether any further action need be taken in terms of commenting and answering relevant draft bills/consultation letters. If indeed this is the case, this working group aims to ensure that someone will in effect formulate a response to the drafts. Any potential response will be made available to the news group in good time before being sent off, so that anybody has the opportunity to further add comments to the response or prepare a collective answer.

Eurodoc

This workgroup has currently chosen to focus on two topics/fields covered by Eurodoc: 'Supervision' and 'Education and support of career paths for PhD students' (please refer to Eurodoc's homepage for more information).
Consequently, the Eurodoc workgroup commits itself to examine and discuss the latest Eurodoc developments occurring within these topics/fields on a monthly basis, thereby ultimately aiming to contribute and achieve the highest level of influence during the annual Eurodoc session. The working group select members to represent Denmark at the Eurodoc sessions.

Ph.d.-regler
PhD rules and regulations

Formål: Samle generelle regler for ph.d.-studerende.
Under udvikling
The objective of this working group is to gather general rules and regulations applicable to PhD students across Denmark, and subsequently make a list of regulations, comparing and contrasting different rules and/or their interpretation, as well as their actual functioning, at various universities over Denmark. Ideally this should act as a kind of "benchmarking" process.
Under development

Opsøgende arbejde
Outreach

The aim of this working group is to establish contact to PhD students at Danish universities on a broad a scale as possible. Ideally, this should guarantee that as many PhD students across Denmark become aware of the fact that they have a representative organ or collective 'voice' at national level, that they can take advantage of the PhD Network as such and know that they are more than welcome to actively participate in the PhD network and its individual working groups.

Livet som Ph.d.-studerende
The life as a PhD student

This workgroup proposes to analyse the course of an average PhD study, with the aim of thereby pinpointing potential problems and conflicts, as well as subsequently formulating suggestions of how these potential dilemmas can be circumvented or rectified. The 'life as a PhD student' workgroup further strives to define the minimum rights and demands every PhD student in Denmark should have.

Det optimale Ph.d.-studie
The optimal PhD study

The purpose of this working group is to act as a 'think tank' on the issue of an optimal or model PhD study. It proposes to address the question of the nature of a hypothetical and perfect study pathway: If we could construct a perfect PhD study trajectory from scratch, which areas would be most salient or pressing, and what shape would they take in an ideal situation.
